"I am driven by restless curiosity. Without it I would not be here."
Ecotone Design LLC is a design, research, and consulting practice working broadly within the sustainable built environment. Our practice focuses on the design of residential and commercial projects, our consulting practice caters to large commercial and institutional clients, and our research is currently focused on urban agriculture and hydroponic farming. Education plays an important role through Frank’s relationship with Jefferson University’s College of Architecture and the Built Environment and their Masters of Sustainable Design program.
In nature, an Ecotone is a dynamic zone where different ecological communities intersect and integrate. They are places that promote diversity and cooperation. We are positioned at that place between the disciplines of Architecture, Urban Design, Engineering, Economics, and the Social Sciences. Ecotone Design collaborates with a wide range of creative people working across many disciplines who care passionately about sustainability and the environment.
Sustainability is first and foremost an act of civic design. It requires understanding of the complex interactions that shape communities as well as the environments that support them. Communities thrive when their diverse needs are equitably addressed. Ecotone Design LLC explores how quality design impacts our ability to thrive in a complex changing world.
